When Smiling Dog Yoga first opened its doors over a decade ago, it was a traditional studio offering a variety of yoga classes in a tranquil and peaceful environment.
Now the current owners of the SLO studio are bringing exciting changes to the business, including a new name.
Now called Smiling Dog Yoga, Barre, and Fitness, the studio will be adding more class options to reach a broader audience of fitness enthusiasts, while still maintaining the peaceful yogic ambiance that their old school clientele is accustomed to.
Recently, a new concept of fusion classes, classes that “fuse” elements from yoga, ballet, Pilates and cardio into one class, has been added to the schedule.
Every Friday evening is Fusion Friday at Smiling Dog where a different fusion class is offered each week, and the first Friday of every month is the Sweat N Sip Mixer that includes a social gathering after class in the courtyard for a chance to meet the Smiling Dog community and sip on wine or kombucha.
Classes that they are hoping to offer in the future include an outdoor spin class and other courtyard classes that include live music. Launching in the spring is a monthly men’s yoga class, and beginning in March will be a Kids Yoga Series for children five and up.
The courtyard will also soon include an outdoor cafe that will offer healthy food, coffee and tea.
