Courtney is delighted to give an informative talk and cooking demonstration about The Mediterranean Diet being a preventative (and even curative!) diet for depression & anxiety. Courtney will discuss brain-nourishing foods, gradually eating less sugar, and many other tips for diet & cooking toward attaining & maintaining better mental health. During this talk, Courtney will show you how to make totally delicious, naturally-sweetened desserts!

EnjoySLO Best Chef Showdown
Presented by Michelle Barrera of

The SLO County Best Chef Showdown will gather together four of SLO County’s best chefs in a head to head competition during the Inspired Home, Garden and Gourmet Expo in Paso Robles on Sunday, February 23rd, 2020. Each chef will be provided locally sourced mystery ingredients from a Talley Farms Fresh Harvest Box and a shipment from Larder Meat Co.

The competition will be judged by three industry professionals in a blind setting. Each dish will be judged on taste, originality, and presentation. The two highest-scoring chefs will go into a head to head round in front of an audience on our Presentation Kitchen Stage at 2 PM.

Come and sample food from award-winning chefs! During the Expo, each chef will be passing out some bites to attendees who will have a chance to vote for Best Chef People’s Choice Award.

The winner receives the title of Chef Showdown Champion and will claim a $1000 cash prize! The People’s Choice winner will receive a gorgeous hand-forged gyutu knife made by Bruno Medieros of Medieros Knives. Bites start at 11:30 am and the competition begins at 12p. The last two standing chefs will compete with a mystery box starting at 2p. Winners will be announced Sunday at 3:30 pm.
